Scotty grew up halfway between Michigan's dance music epicenters of Detroit and Ann Arbor. In the 90's he could be found most weekends at spots like the Packard Plant, Timbo's Hall, The Theatre, Under The Bridge, The Firehouse and many others learning from the best the birthplace of Techno had to offer. With a strong and eclectic musical background, he quickly honed a DJ skill set and was fortunate to play alongside such legends as James Pennington and Mike Huckaby as well as a vast majority of the midwestern USA's talent early on in his career.

The first half of the next decade Scotty bounced between Detroit and Ann Arbor playing venues like Oslo, Goodnite Gracie, Live, Alvin's and numerous house parties and underground events. During this time Scotty was also a "second wave" resident of the notorious Untitled parties and worked closely with local labels Moodgadget and Ghostly International. He is extremely proud to have amazing DJs and producers like Matthew Dear, Ryan Elliot, Seth Troxler, Carlos Souffront, Derek Plaslaiko, Mike Servito, Jakub Alexander (Aarnio/Heathered Pearls), Eric Cloutier, Chuck Hampton (Gay Marvine), BMG and Todd Osborne amongst his peers.

In 2006 Scotty moved to Chicago where he resides today. Since then he has played most of the major venues and parties including SmartBar, Sonotheque, Boom Boom Room, Beauty Bar and Lumen with artists like Trus' Me, Chez Damier, Funk D'Void, Jacques Renault, Hot Chip, Classixx, Simian Mobile Disco and The Twelves. He has also reignited his production career. Without a release since his mid 2000's work on Moodgadget and Ghostly International, he recently released "My Heroes" under his Cushion guise on Chicago's Fresh Meat Records.

As a DJ, Scotty's credo is that anything goes; music is music and there is only good and bad. His goal is to blend genres and styles to create boogie down atmospheres for both the music-snob and the fish-out-of-water patron. With an affinity for long sets, he likes to take his audiences on a journey of music new and old from the well-known to the obscure. With a keen eye for the mood of the room, his timing is impeccable and his grooves are spot on. As a producer he hopes to create music that he feels fits his DJ ethos and is an expression of his ideas and emotions.
